Reasons To Sing In the Grace Church Choir

Grace Episcopal Church, in the heart of Middletown (on its prettiest corner) is a wonderful place to worship and to sing.  Our Sunday morning services at 9:30 a.m. are the best antidote to the weight that seems to accumulate all week on a person’s soul and psyche.  Being surrounded by the beautiful vaulted ceiling and morning light through stained glass, plus the 175 year history of the place and all its special people, past and present, helps you to exhale and recalibrate.

We invite all singers who have some choral experience to join us.  Call or email Music Director Don Boyer for details:  cdboyer@optonline.net,  845-343-6101 (parish office)

The music tradition here is strong.  We try to mix old and new styles to keep things fresh.  We’ve sung tunes by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (to our own text) and from Godspell.  But we also sing traditional Anglican and classical music such as Attwood’s “Teach Me, O Lord”.

The schedule is relatively easy for singers.  We rehearse Sunday mornings after the service at 10:45 a.m. and we sing in the service once every 4 weeks.  We think it’s the best place for singers to have fun and also feed the soul.
